Ann C. O’Connell, Esq., LMSW, is an attorney and licensed clinical social worker in New York. Ann brings 10 years of legal training and 6 years of clinical work to the mediation field. She worked as an associate at Pryor Cashman LLP in New York for 4 years, where she worked with many couples in matrimonial disputes, and litigated intellectual property issues. She subsequently worked with the United States Golf Association (USGA) as in-house counsel, where she managed all of the Association’s litigation and intellectual property areas, and worked closely with staff to resolve disputes.

Ann worked for two years as a clinical therapist at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx. Ann currently works at Harris, Rothenberg International on Wall Street,as an EAP Clinician, consultant and account manager, assisting Human Resource Directors at major law firms and financial institutions mediate sensitive employee situations.

Ann's years of legal and clinical training provide her with a keen understanding of how to successfully resolve disputes in a caring, effective and professional manner.

Ann primarily mediates in New York. She is available to mediate in the Los Angeles area with advance notice.

Dayton Haigney serves as the principal mediator of Pacific Atlantic Mediation. He brings a wealth of experience as a trial lawyer to the conflict resolution field. As a practicing attorney, he spent over twenty years representing clients in the areas of securities arbitration, commercial litigation and personal injury.

Dayton graduated cum laude from St. Lawrence University in 1984 (New York). He received his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law (Virginia) where he served as President of the Student Bar Association and acted as the Judicial Chair of the University Executive Committee.

 Dayton has been involved with thousands of litigated cases. As a trial lawyer, he selected hundreds of juries and took verdicts in over seventy-five cases. He possesses an in-depth understanding of the laws of the states of New York and California. He brings a calming demeanor to emotionally charged issues.

Laura Fischer acts as a mediator at Pacific Atlantic Mediation focusing primarily on intellectual property and patent disputes. She a registered attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark office. She has a substantial technical background in biological sciences, with a focus in molecular biology and immunology. She is well versed with all areas of the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

Laura practiced as a patent attorney for Fish and Neave (now Ropes and Gray), as well as in-house counsel with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals. Her legal practice exposed her to all areas of patent practice including prosecution, litigation and interference practice. Laura also has substantial legal experience in entertainment law and estate planning.

Laura received her law degree from Duke Law School and received her Bachelor of Science degree with a biology major from the University of Georgia at Athens. Prior to law school she worked at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta researching emerging pathogens in the immunocompromised and HIV population.
 
Laura is admitted to practice before state and federal courts within the State of New York, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the Federal Circuit. She is available to mediate cases in both the New York City and Los Angeles Metropolitan areas.
